Klerksdorp Golf Club in Klerksdorp was established in 1889, and is the oldest golf club in the "Old Transvaal" and the fifth oldest in South Africa, alongside Kimberley Golf Club. Its development, led by dedicated individuals, faced challenges from floods, droughts, and limited water, yet it evolved from a 9-hole course with "blougrond" greens to a well-maintained, modern 18-hole course. Today, the club offers a contemporary layout, a fully equipped clubhouse with a bar, restaurant, and function facilities, all managed by Bona Steyn and her team.
