Westidge Gardens has long been the closest and most convenient public open space for residents of Mitchells Plain to enjoy family picnics, take wedding pictures or simply get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The addition of the new Rose Garden to this public open space creates an even more attractive environment. The City of Cape Towns Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services, Councillor Brett Herron, officially opened a Rose Garden at City Parks Westridge Gardens in Mitchells Plain on the 19 April 2011. City Parks is extremely proud of the fact that Westridge Gardens is now one of Cape Town's flagship facilities. The gardens are beautiful, peaceful, well-kept and well-utilised by the community and the counsel regard this park as a bench-mark for future improvement projects.
