Sunshine Beachfront Cottage

Sunshine Beachfront Cottage is a popular holiday destination located on the spectacular coast line off Birah Beach Resort. The cottage is located 55 minutes South of East London airport and 30 minutes north of Port Alfred by way of the R72 coastal road. The cottage is nestled between spectacular rolling sand dunes and the Indian Ocean on the one side, with scrub covered in brush and multiple species of acacia cyclops on the other. The cottage stands proudly on the edge of these magnificent dunes and a mere 200 meters from the ocean. The views of the Indian Ocean are magnificent, uninterrupted, spanning a full 180 degrees where visitors can watch dolphins and whales swim past on a regular basis.

Accessed by a private road and with ample parking, the cottage boasts an undercover braai area with seating and an open plan kitchen equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, ice machine, and an adequate supply of crockery & cutlery. The dining area is located to one side and next to a built-in "log fire" place which leads onto the lounge boasting large bay windows. The lounge leads out to an undercover veranda on the ocean side furnished with deck chairs and table making it an ideal place to read whilst taking in the view and listening to the ocean pounding the shoreline.

The accommodation consists of 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The main room is furnished with a King Bed and situated on the front (ocean side) of the house with its own en-suite shower hand basin and toilet. Down the passage there is a bathroom fitted with a shower, hand basin and bath with a guest toilet next door. Further down the passage is the second bedroom furnished with two single beds and a third bedroom furnished with a double bed and en-suite comprising toilet, shower, and hand basin. The forth bedroom is located at the end and furnished with a King Bed and en-suite comprising shower toilet and hand basin. The cottage can accommodate up to 8 persons comfortably.

The closest convenience store is located 12 minutes from the cottage in the village of Wesley. There you will find a cafe selling a variety of delicacies as well as general trading stores in the vicinity. For more extensive supplies Port Alfred is a mere 30 minutes down the coast using the R72 National Road. The closest commercial airport is located south of East London, but smaller aircraft fly in and out of Port Alfred.

Rock and Surf fishing is popular and rolling oysters are a common sight on the beach. For boating enthusiasts the Birah River, a mere 200 metres from the cottage offers the opportunity for water-skiing and other water sports. Boat owners may also launch out to sea providing they are in possession of the appropriate permits/licences. The surrounding bushland is home to a wide variety of bird life and animals including bush-buck, blue duiker, tortoise, guinea fowl, pheasant, monkeys and hare.
