Children Policy:

  • Under 4 years - free of charge, sharing parents room
  • 4 - 11 years - 50% of adult rate, sharing parents room
  • 12 years and above - full adult rate if accommodation in separate suite
  • We can add up to 2 beds in our spacious suites
  • Babysitters facilities are available
  • Horse riding for children under 10 years only by prior arrangement

Deposit and Cancellations:

  • A 50% deposit of accommodation is required to confirm your reservation
  • Bookings will be released automatically & without hesitation if these conditions are not met
  • All cancellations must be done in writing
  • All refunds are subject to a 15% administration fee
  • 30 - 22 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of deposit paid
  • 21 - 15 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of deposit paid
  • 14 - 0 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of deposit paid

This unique and exclusive lodge is situated in its own, malaria-free private game reserve, perched high on the slopes of Pakamisa mountain and overlooking the rolling hills of Zululand. A room with a view awaits you at Pakamisa! Each of the eight spacious suites consists of a bedroom (king-size or double bed), superb deluxe bathroom, lounge with tea & coffee making facilities, well stocked mini-bar and electronic safe. Each suite opens out onto a large veranda.

Meals are an occasion; enjoy mouth-watering breakfasts to delicious alfresco lunches on the panoramic veranda of the award-winning El Prado restaurant. Horseback Safaris: At Pakamisa we are specializing in pleasure riding holidays for families, groups and individuals. Each of our trial rides provides incredible game viewing on horseback while strolling through the plains and challenging climbs of the rolling hills of the vast Pakamisa reserve. You may ride into a herd of impala or wildebeest and numerous warthogs will let you get close to them before they start trotting off.

One of our professional guides will guide you through Pakamisa's unspoilt wilderness areas, introduce you to the South African mammals, fauna & flora and share with you the excitement of a Horseback safari.

Combining the magnificent scenery with the thrill of riding amongst teeming herds of game is something no horse lover should miss.

Riding schedules are tailored to the requirements of each group or person, which starts from a beginner lesson of half an hour to a daily ride of up to 3 to 4 hours, with a break for a romantic Bush breakfast or picnic.

Bush walks: For those visitors who would like to experiment Pakamisa on two legs rather than on four, there are numerous wonderful walks and trails through the valleys, along the river banks and up the Pakamisa mountain for the most rewarding panoramic views.

Game Drives: Tailor made activities also include the traditional game drives in the Pakamisa reserve, where you will be able to watch herds of antelopes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, etc., and over 250 species of birds are spotted. You will be accompanied by our well-trained Game Rangers.
