This luxury holiday home is situated in Mtwalume on the KwaZulu-Natal South
Coast (90km from Durban). Mtwalume is situated between Scottsburgh (30km) and
Hiberdene (10km). The complex itself is surrounded by electric fencing and has a
24-hour security guard service. The unit have got an exclusive use splash pool.
There are a further two communal swimming pools, a tennis court and a trampoline
in the complex.
The home consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a maximum sleeping capacity
of six people. The main bedroom has a king size bed, full on-suite bathroom and
overlooks the ocean. The second bedroom has a queen size bedroom overlooking the
ocean. The third bedroom consist of two single beds. The common bathroom has a
shower and toilet with wash basin.
The home's appliances include a 51" Plasma TV, Video/DVD/Blu-ray player, media
player and DStv dish (just bring your own DStv Decoder and Smart Card), washing
machine, tumble dryer and microwave. It also has got a lovely double door
fridge/freezer with ice maker for the hot sunny days.
Arguably the best thing about the holiday home is the stunning views of the
ocean and the prime location in the complex itself. The complex is on a hill
overlooking the mouth of the Mtwalume River where it forms a lagoon where the
river flows into the Indian Ocean. The elevation, the fact that unit is right in
the front of the complex (no units to obscure the view) and the close proximity
to the ocean affords incredible views both off the coast and over the ocean. You
can enjoy the views from the large wooden deck surrounding the home or take a
stroll to the beach.
The Mtwalume beach has ablution facilities and have lifeguards are on duty
during the holidays. The Hiberdene beach (5 minutes away) always has Lifeguards
on duty. It is a 5-minute walk to the beach and you can pack a picnic basket or
just simply go back to the home for lunch. The best part of the beach is the
stunning large tidal pool with a sea sand floor and its own 'beach'. The tidal
pool at high tide has got waves breaking over the wall forming smaller waves in
the pool that is ideal for all ages of children to enjoy.
It is also a favourite with the local fishermen and there is plenty of fishing
of the rocks next to the tidal pool.
Margate is only 50km away where you can enjoy the beaches, a bit of shopping or
indulge in a waffle at the famous Waffle House between Margate and Ramsgate. The
Echo Valley Coffee farm is 45km away and offers stunning views of the Oribi
Gorge which offers various adventures like zip lining etc. uShaka Marine World
and The Wild Coast Sun is only an hours drive away. There are numerous golf
courses in the vicinity including Selbourne (15km), Umdoni (15km), Scottsburgh
(35km) and Post Shepstone (65km).
