23 Ambleside Retreat is more than a holiday accommodation that offers a self-catering unit or bed and optional breakfast lodging. It offers a range of health retreat options, and is situated in Umtentweni, Port Shepstone. A mere 1,5 minute walk to a pristine and unspoiled wild beach. Within driving distance from shops, restaurants and other attractions.

We have solar power, so no more load shedding!

Accommodation at 23 Ambleside comprises of 1 main house, 2 cottages and a flat. These 4 options can be booked together for 1 large group, or can be booked separately.

We also have a baby cot available on site for the little ones to sleep in.

The Flat is a self catering unit with fully equipped kitchen, open plan living lounge with a high table and 4 barstools. 2 single beds and smart TV in the lounge. In the bedroom is a double bed and ample hanging and cupboard space. A bathroom with big shower. The flat is on the first floor and accessible via stairs, but with a magnificent view of the ocean and the garden with pool. The best place on the property and easily sleeps 4.

The first cottage sleeps 2 and consists of open-plan living, Cottage 1 is not self-catering but has a fridge, microwave, and coffee- and tea-making facilities, a private patio with braai provided.

The second cottage has a double bed and a single bed can be added for people with a child. Cottage 2 is SELF CATERING. It has a full kitchen with gas stove.

These units are separate from the main house. Owners stay on the property and are available for guest if they should require.

On-site facilities include swimming pool, spa treatments, laundry service, pets by arrangement, Wi-Fi and a braai area. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the on-site activities which include swimming.

The property also features free Wi-Fi Internet connection, a braai area, a swimming pool for guests to take a refreshing dip in. Secure parking is available for vehicles, behind remote-controlled gates of the property.

Neighborhood Description
Set within 3.3 km of Oribi Plaza and 2.3 km of Umtentweni Conservancy Trail in Port Shepstone. Very safe area for running. 3rd Avenue restaurant is the place to be with very reasonably priced good food, within walking distance. Little Shop and bottle stores 5 min walking distance. Bigger shops and restaurants or a 5 min drive. Shelly Beach mall and South Coast mall is a 20 min drive. Port Shepstone Country Club/golf course is 5 min drive.Nearby activities include horse riding, game drives, mountain biking, game viewing, swimming, fishing, cycling, guided walks and tennis.

The Main House:
The main house sleeps 12 people and consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms. The purple room and the blue room have a double bed and a single bed and share the big bathroom with large bath, shower, toilet and basin. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed and a single bed, an en suit full bathroom with shower and bath and one basin, toilet. The sunroom is an open room adjacent to the lounge and has sea view. It has a double bed and a single bed and uses the same shared bathroom with the purple and blue room. The large dining room has an 8 seater dining table and desk for office work. The lounge has lazy boys and a large smart TV with Netflix streaming. there is no DSTV or local stations. There is a separate toilet in the hallway. The large kitchen is fully equipped with appliances as well as a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Cottage One
Sleeps 2 , is not self catering but has a fridge, microwave and kettle, and consists of open-plan living. It has a private patio with braai provided.

The Family Cottage
This cottage can sleeps 3. It has one double bed and one single can be added. Private bathroom with shower. This Cottage has a full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster and is self catering. Has braai options on request.
